We went to the new Citi Field to see the Giants beat the Mets. The stadium is gorgeous and a gigantic step up from the toilet that was Shea Stadium. You enter the park through the Jackie Robinson Rotunda which is full of old photos and memorabilia. We sat in our nosebleed seats for 5 innings an then we decided to wander around the park. We checked out the dunk tank and the little tee ball field for the kids. We also stumbled on the old apple that used to pop up at Shea when a homerun was hit. It's down at field level and right behind the bullpen viewing area. We finished up the day with dinner at one of my favorite Thai places in NYC. Great day. Check out more of my photos from today here.
I bought these language CD's about 9 months ago. I opened them today and listened to the first lesson on my way home from work. If I can leave for the airport in three weeks with the most basic of Italian vocabulary, I'll consider myself ready to be one with them!
Before we split up for the day, T to Fenway Park for his cousin's bachelor party and me to a friend's house in New Hampshire, we had breakfast at his mother's house in Lynn, MA.
T and I stopped for dinner at this little diner off the Taconic on our way to Boston. I had an egg salad and a milkshake and T had a burger. It was delicious and we were on our way within 45 minutes!
I was inspired by "Eat Pray Love" to begin meditating and doing yoga more regularly. I opened up my new Chakra deck today and learned about the Throat Chakra.
I started this audio book today and almost shut it off after the first disc. It's a pretty hard story for me to swallow and it made me fairly uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I can't stand not knowing the ending so I'll soldier on!
We've had it with our nasty apartment and the stifling heat. We packed up the car, picked up my friend Shannon, and went to the Jersey Shore. We spent the day at Bradley Beach, jumping in the waves and people watching. We finished the day with $1 drafts and a late lunch at a local pub. Dessert was cake batter ice cream from the nearby ice cream stand.
I saw this recipe on the CBS morning show while I was taking my mental health day from work. The grilling of the strawberries brought the flavor out and the whole house smelled delicious.
